We begin the week with Mother’s Day (and four appropriately themed episodes from Harris & Faye, The Red Skelton Show, The Life Of Riley, Our Miss Brooks and the latter two are new to the channel this year)

We once again mark National Police Week with a number of law enforcement episodes from Dragnet, Calling All Cars, Police Headquarters, The CBS Radio Workshop and Tales Of The Texas Rangers.

Among the birthday tributes: Katharine Hepburn (Theater Guild On The Air “Little Women”); Henry Fonda (Lux Radio Theater’s “Mary Burns, Fugitive”, The Cavalcade Of America, Suspense); Joseph Cotten (Hollywood Star Playhouse, Suspense, A Date With Judy); Maureen O’Sullivan (Chase & Sanborn Hour, Suspense); Phil Silvers (in new to the channel Suspense episode); author Leslie Charteris (Four episodes of The Saint) and a centennial celebration for boxer Joe Louis (his appearance on The Jack Benny Program)

We mark the 72nd anniversary of the radio debut of The Whistler with two new to the channel episodes, and last but not least, we have four new to the channel episodes of the quarter-hour comedy program The Couple Next Door. That hour-long special includes a portion of a recent visit with the series creator and star, 97 year-old Peg Lynch.
