Robert Osborne (Turner Classic Movies)

A special treat this week, as Turner Classic Movies host Robert Osborne is my guest in a two-hour special as we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the theatrical release, “The Thin Man” with a new to the channel radio adaptation on Lux Radio Theater. The motion picture leads, William Powell and Myrna Loy once again are heard as Dashiell Hammett’s characters, Nick & Nora Charles.

In a visit a long time coming (and frequently suggested by many of you listeners over the years), Osborne and I talk movies and radio (and much more) in a visit airing in conjunction with TCM’s Film Festival in Hollywood this week. Based out of the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and multiple theaters in the area, the star-studded event is being held from April 10th-13th, 2014.

Course that’s not all this week on RadioClassics: we have lots of additional new to the channel offerings plus series anniversaries and birthday tributes for some pretty popular series and folks including; Harry Morgan (Mystery In The Air, This Your FBI); Paul McGrath (The Inner Sanctum Mysteries, Suspense); Walter Huston (Lux Radio Theater’s version of “The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre”); Frankie Thomas Jr. (Tom Corbett, Space Cadet) and more.

Among the series anniversary specials – Adventures Of Nero Wolfe; Dimension X, Nick Carter, Master Detective; My Friend Irma; This Is Your FBI and The Adventures of The Falcon.
