Rolling into December folks. Of course later in the month we’ll present holiday shows from all the top series on the channel, and not just the comedies and variety programs, as most of the dramas also had Christmas episodes each year.

Meanwhile for this first week of December, here are some of the highlights.

We have two different Pearl Harbor Day tributes. one featuring Norman Corwin’s landmark patriotic program – We Hold These Truths and the other has Oscar winning actress Fay Bainter in Lux Radio Theater’s “The War Against Mrs. Hadley”.

Also marking the anniversary of a few radio series debuts, for example, we have multiple episode of The Mysterious Traveler which launched on the Mutual Broadcasting System 70 years ago this week. There also is a two-hour Man of Steel Marathon with Bud Collyer as Superman.

Among the birthday tributes are the following: Agnes Moorehead (Suspense, The Shadow, The Columbia Workshop’s “Alice Through The Looking Glass”); producer/director Arch Oboler (Lights Out, Arch Oboler’s Plays); producer/director William Spier (Suspense, Sam Spade); writer Cornell Woolrich (Suspense); Ezra Stone (The Aldrich Family); Isabel Randolph (Fibber McGee & Molly); writer Rex Stout (Nero Wolfe) and a Centennial Celebration for Mary Martin (guest on The Jack Benny Program).

It was never clearly stated. In my opinion, after Fibber woke up still tied to the bed, but wearing a hat, it was implied that he was the guilty party.

On Fibber Magee and Molly the other night I missed the last part of the program as my xm went off. Due to satellite problems I missed who threw the rock in Uppy’s bay window…. Please tell me who did it…. thank you so much… Mary Lou
