Hey gang, before I detail the week I want to remind you that we are full steam ahead on the 2nd annual Radio Spirits Sea Cruise. The inaugural event back in June was a great success and we are aiming “bigger and better” for next summer’s cruise departing out of Florida with stops in The Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. If ya think you can join me – head on over to http://www.cruisingwithgregbell.com/ and reserve a cabin. Meanwhile if ya wanna see some highlights of the first cruise check out this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYsYWZ8QvZw

Okay, back to the channel – we are rolling into October and by the end of the month expect lots of Halloween horror (and humor) highlighted by the return of War Of The Worlds! After a five years of legal broadcasting wrangling, we are excited to have it back for the 75th anniversary of the October 30th, 1938 Orson Welles led broadcast.

Ah, but that is at the end of the month – coming up this week we have birthday tributes Bud Abbott, Groucho Marx, Deborah Kerr, Damon Runyon, Barton Yarborough (Dragnet,Hawk Larabee), Lamont Johnson (Tarzan, Nero Wolfe, The Whistler), Everett Sloane (CBS Radio Workshop, Inner Sanctum), vocalist Kenny Baker (The Jack Benny Program) and more.

  1. Tampa Bay Tom says:

I would think it all has to do with what Greg has in his library and what his provider is willing to let Sirius XM have.

  2. Will says:

If Lum and Abner was on for 20 years why do we hear the same ones over and over?
