Wrapping up one month and rolling into another. Hard to believe the kids will be heading back to school soon.

Leading this week will be a two-hour 83rd anniversary special for The Shadow. This year I have four straight episodes of the character which debuted on radio on the evening of July 31st, 1930. The first two feature Orson Welles, the second stars Bill Johnstone and the final has Bret Morrison.

Also this week we have ;The Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar Marathon “The Alder Matter” as well as two different new to the channel hour long movies adapted for radio productions. They are The Screen Director’s Playhouse take on the 1942 big screen comedy “Take A Letter, Darling” featuring Fred MacMurray and Rosalind Russell and Lux Radio Theater’s “One Way Passage” which is a birthday week tribute for multiple Oscar nominee, William Powell.

Speaking of birthdays; we also celebrate the following folks Joseph Curtin AND Alice Frost (starring together in two new to the channel episodes of Mr. & Mrs. North); Larry Haines (Inner Sanctum); author Brett Halliday (Michael Shayne); announcer Bill Goodwin (Burns & Allen, Bob Hope Show); Gary Merrill (Gangbusters) and writer John Meston (Gunsmoke).

Additional new to the channel this week episodes from A Day In the Life Of Dennis Day, The Whistler, Let George Do It, Red Skelton Show, Damon Runyon Theater, Suspense and more.

    Hi Greg,
I downloaded the schedule for July 28 to August 3 & noticed that during the 12 noon block on Mon. & Tue. Red Skelton part 1 11/11/41 are on both day’s, but do not see a part 2. Is Tuesday just a typo and should be part 2 ? Also there is a show, Top Secret, that I have never heard or have never knew existed. Is this another Radio Classic gem you have uncovered or am I just not that observant ? The latter I can accept.

Top Secret is a great show, sadly I only have an episode or two of it.

Yes that is part one and part two, those are not RadioClassics, that’s the AM-FM When Radio Was show, which is split up on Monday and Tuesdays.
