More Oscar Winners on Radio

Last week during the build up to the 85th Academy Award ceremony I shared with you a number of Oscar winners on radio, and this week s few more including the following new to the channel offerings: Lux Radio Theater’s “Lives Of A Bengal Lancer”; Academy Award Theater’s “Watch On The Rhine” starring Oscar winner, Paul Lukas; Screen Director’s Playhouse’s “Trade Winds” with multiple Oscar winner, Frederic March as well as radio version of Best Picture winners; “All About Eve” and “Rebecca”.

We also bring back our annual birthday week tribute for Oscar winner Elizabeth Taylor and also a centennial celebration for Jim Backus (Alan Young Show and guest shots on Jeff Regan Investigator and Richard Diamond Private Detective).

Additional birthday specials for Desi Arnaz, Dinah Shore, Louise Erickson (A Date With Judy), Ralph Camargo (X-Minus One), announcer Cy Harrice (Sherlock Holmes) and a personal favorite, Mason Adams (in two new to the channel episodes of The CBS Radio Workshop).

Finally we mark the 64th anniversary of the debut of the quality police series, Broadway Is My Beat with three episodes featuring Larry Thor as NYPD detective Danny Clover.
