The channel has been added this year to a number of other channels as part of a major Screamfest this Halloween. So it has caused me to do a little creative juggling to fit the company’s desire. So, The week of October 21st starts in the usual way with shows debuting on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday (10/24) also airs as usual, but then the remaining repeats from that week will be heard AFTER the multiple day Halloween special airs (meaning they will play on Nov. 1st – 3rd).

That Halloween special features both a blend of classic replays from the past (Donovan’s Brain, Mercury Theater’s Dracula, Escape’s Three Skeleton Key, Suspense’s Frankenstein, Lights Out Revolt Of The Worms….) and a significant number of new to the channel this Halloween offerings from The Witch’s Tale, Inner Sanctum Mysteries, Murder At Midnight, Dark Fantasy, The Weird Circle, The Hermit’s Cave, The Hall of Fantasy and more.

Also making the channel debut will be the recording of the final Harry Houdini Seance which occurred on Halloween night 1936 on the 10th anniversary of the famed magician and escape artist’s death.

Again Halloween runs pretty much wall to wall on Sirius XM 82 from Thursday October 25th through Halloween Night October 31st Midnight PT (so that’s 3am ET early Nov. 1st).

Meanwhile, among the highlights during the regular week which runs before and after the Halloween special, we have birthday tributes for Joan Fontaine (95!), Joan Banks, Hy Averback, Burt Lancaster, and a centennial celebration for Dale Evans.

Finally, the bookings continue to going well for the Radio Spirits Old-Time Radio Cruise planned for June 22nd-27th 2013, (NYC to Bermuda on Royal Caribbean’s Explorer Of The Seas) but plenty of cabins still available so if you are interested please contact us ASAP – visit the website at  www.cruisingwithgregbell.com/or call Larry at 800-269-2127  Lots of great activities planned, you can see that by clicking HERE

I just want to say that I think YTJD “The Confidential Matter” is one of the high points of not just Old Time Radio, but radio, period! Just a fantastic gathering of talent in front and behind the microphone. It would make a great movie.

  2. Lana says:

My favorite time of year. Full of suspense and creepy scary stuff. I like how Greg changes the programming format for Halloween every year.

Fantastic job Greg, love the channel and find myself wishing my commute was a bit longer

  4. Michael-NE Ohio says:

I love the quality of these shows….both the sound quality and the ability to transport me to a place where I can ‘see’ the action.

Dracula is wonderfully done and I can see the pitching and rolling of the ship….

It makes me wish my commute was a little longer….well, not really…..

My wife and I have been doing the math…just because she teaches math and I am an engineer…

Since I started with Radio Classics, in the beginning, I have travelled

350,000 miles in a car/truck…my commute and vacations

152,000 miles of air travel…mostly business

Thanks for all of the help along the way RC

  5. Will says:

I am really looking forward to the new shows this Holloween
