As I shared with you last week; we are trying to put together an Old-Time Radio cruise next June. You can learn more at the following link http://www.cruisingwithgregbell.com/ or contact Larry Schwartz at800-269-2127 Ext 2.

It’s a 5-day Royal Caribbean Cruise from NYC to Bermuda June 22nd – 27th 2013. It will feature old-time radio show discussions, trivia contests, and re-creations of radio plays live on stage. Ones you can participate in if you like, with microphones, scripts and live sound effects.

Okay lots of new to the channel this week as we pay birthday tributes to the following folks among others; William Powell, Louis Armstrong, Wally Maher, Larry Haines, Alice Frost, Joseph Curtin, Gary Merrill, Marilyn Maxwell as well as writers Brett Halliday (Michael Shayne) and John Meston (Gunsmoke).

We also have a two-hour Shadow special marking the 82nd anniversary of that character’s radio debut, as well as a Yours Truly Johnny Dollar Marathon and additional new episodes from Our Miss Brooks, Fort Laramie, Gunsmoke, The Life Of Riley, Let George Do It, The Screen Director’s Playhouse, Nick Carter, Mr. & Mrs. North, The Whistler, Inner Sanctum Mysteries, The Mysterious Traveler, etc.

Finally a reminder, if you are in the Baltimore/Washington DC area stop on by the The Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention held at the Hunt Valley Inn north of Baltimore. I will be there on Friday August 10th and Saturday August 11th. You can find me on that Saturday from 11am to 2pm or so at the Radio Spirits table. This year’s celebrity guests including Shirley Jones (The Partridge Family, The Music Man, Oklahoma…),William Sanderson (Deadwood, True Blood, Newhart); James Darren (Gidget movies), Ron Ely (Tarzan), Sherry Jackson (Make Room For Daddy), Ian Petralla (Randy in A Christmas Story) plus Jay North and Jeanne Russell (Dennis and Margaret from TV’s Dennis The Menace) You can learn more about the event at the following link http://midatlanticnostalgiaconvention.com.

Thanks for the Dr. Kildare episodes. I hope that there will be new ones in the future. I do not recall anyone commenting on stories from The Chase but there have been some good and interesting storylines. I hope to see more of them as well.
