As is our annual tradition we honor Elizabeth Taylor on this week of her birth (Feb 27th, 1932) buy bringing back an hour long Lux Radio Theatre version of “National Velvet” (co-starring a now 89 year old Mickey Rooney) as well as a half hour Cavalcade of America episode; “I, Mary Peabody.”

Other birthday tributes include one for the versatile Mason Adams, Robert Young, composer Frederick Steiner (This Is Your FBI), Dane Clark (Crime and Peter Chambers), Jim Backus (cast member on the Alan Young Show) and Larry Gelbert (wrote for Bob Hope later for TV’s M*A*S*H and the film Tootsie).

We also have John Wayne in a radio version of the US Cavalry picture, ‘She Wore A Yellow Ribbon” and yet another Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar Marathon.
