We are rolling toward Halloween which this year includes the return of Mercury Theater On The Air’s War Of The Worlds broadcast, the 75th Anniversary. This week I will have a few Halloween themed shows to get you in the mood. They include offerings from Lights Out, Dark Fantasy, Inner Sanctum Mysteries plus two Lucille Fletcher classic scripts; The Hitchhiker and Sorry, Wrong Number. We also have a little Halloween humor from Our Miss Brooks, The Great Gildersleeve and Abbott & Costello.

Our birthday tributes this week are heading up by one for Oscar winner Joan Fontaine (she is 96!) and others include Barney Phillips’ centennial (Dragnet, Escape); Bela Lugosi, Hy Averback (The Whistler, Escape), Ivor Francis (The Chase) and Teri Keane’s 88th (X Minus One)

Two different series debut anniversaries as well; The Fred Allen Show and Sherlock Holmes (celebrated with a two-hour four episode special featuring four different acting tandems as Holmes & Watson).

Greg.

  1. No Fibber this week? That is my favorite, but I know not everyone likes them. Looking forward to hearing them next week.
